We are fresh back from our weekend ‘Return to Nature’ Yoga retreat in Wales. We had a wonderful group of 10 Women join together for well deserved rest, recuperation and time out from day to day life. There was plenty of Yoga, nature connection and time spent horizontal as we rested our bones in meditation and some afternoon naps! The conversation was rich, the energy was supportive and the weather was great! A couple of the Women even went for a wild swim in the lake at the venue. I always feel so blessed when Women join me for a whole weekend. I know time is precious so for them to say yes to spending it on retreat with me - well it’s pretty amazing - thank you

It wouldn't be May without a photo or two of the bluebells would it?! I’ll admit, I’m a little obsessed! Every year I drag my family to as many bluebell spots as I can find and ooo and ahhh my way around with my boys in tow. I just love them and the magick they bring to the woodlands. I’ve got lots of childhood memories with them, especially with my Grandad whose birthday it would have been tomorrow. He would be 107!

What a week it has been. So many Nature sightings, so much time outdoors in this glorious weather! It seems everything is embracing the sun and warmth and is out and about!

We’ve been getting a little more active on our Yoga mats in class with our Beltane inspired practice. We are two weeks deep into this one now and I hope you’re enjoying the flow. We’ve been starting with Nadi Shodana pranayama - a rhythmic flow of controlling the prana through the nostrils in order to bring balance back to our nadis (energy channels). It’s a great one for ensuring we aren’t over passive or active. Gently guiding us back to a place of equilibrium which is where of course we thrive. Nature loves balance and we are Nature!

With endings comes new beginnings.

If you follow me on social media you may (or may not, as seems to be the increasing case) seen my last post regarding the change to the way I am choosing to keep in touch with everyone. Here’s what I wrote in case you missed it:

‘Anyone else feel like they want to engage in social media less and less?

It’s tricky for us small business owners as it can feel like, ‘well if I don’t use Instagram and FB where else are people going to get to know about what I offer and when?’ It can feel like a catch 22…

It was a different story last weekend as we rose bright and early for a beauty of a walk up Mam Tor. Every now and then I organise a walk for our Yoga community to join as an opportunity to chat, catch up, get to know each other better and explore the local landscape together. As I left home there was nothing but mist but as luck had it, this quickly cleared and we had the most amazing views from the summit. It really was one of those wow moments that I won’t forget with Claire and Chloe for a long time! If you regularly come along to class and would like to join us for a walk sometime, let me know and I’ll add you to the Yoga Community WhatsApp group.

Many indigenous cultures use what is called a sit spot. A place a person visits every day and just sits. Getting to know the land intimately and the creatures that live there. Over time you begin to notice the tiny changes. A plant that was just a bud yesterday is now a flower today. A patch of grass that seemed dull a week ago is now vibrant and growing. The couple of rabbits that scarper on my approach seem to have multiplied over night! And you get to meet the unchanging - The blackbird with a white feather on its left wing, singing from what seems to be its favourite branch. The rock in the stream, still being smoothed by the passing water.

Spring is in the air, can you feel it? The weather is still pointing towards Winter but the energy feels different…something is stirring and on its way! Seeing my first daffodil bloom has confirmed that for me!

I’m excited for Spring, like many of you are too when I asked around last week’s class, but I also feel a tinge of grief that it’s over. I like the dark and getting cosy at home. I like the slower pace. I know some of you have enjoyed the slow rhythm too with our Winter Yoga practice. There were a few ‘ahh’s around the room when I announced we were moving on to our next 6 week evening Yoga theme as of this Tuesday and it’s going to hold a Spring energy!

Class update - 5th February 2026

Wow, it’s a bit wild out there today isn’t it?! Rain, wind, sleet, we have it all! I hope you’re all keeping warm and cosy.

Here is your class update as promised - the heating is still broken at Werrington VH. A plumber has been to take a look but it’s not fixed as yet. I called several local village halls yesterday but I’m afraid they were already booked for this evening so I’ve taken the decision to cancel our class for today. I’m hoping the heating will be fixed by Monday for our class then but again - I’ll update you all via my socials, Yoga Community WhatsApp group and this newsletter.

I’m hoping everyone’s start to 2026 has been smooth. Mine hasn’t been that way! Lots of coughs, colds and sickness in the house over January including one of my dogs! It’s been a challenge to say the least as we have had to navigate one day at a time and change plans constantly. I’m hoping for a steadier February but with the news of broken heating on the first day of the new month, who knows! More lessons in going with the flow. My Yoga and gratitude practice has been invaluable since the start of the year. No matter how turbulent things have felt, they have been my anchor. There is always something to be grateful for, no matter how small.

I’m sure many of you have seen the weather forecast.

I’ve decided to cancel today’s 6.15pm class at Werrington even though no snow is visible yet it’s looking imminent! I don’t think any of us will be able to relax wondering what is happening outside the hall even if we were okay to make it there.

Stay warm and cosy everyone. Hopefully I’ll see you on Monday instead as I’m really looking forward to a good catch up with everyone and a nice Yoga practice together. Luckily I managed to catch my Ipstones Yogins this week, on Tuesday where we enjoyed the first class of 2026 together.

I can’t quite believe I’m writing this, but we only have a few classes left of 2025!

I personally feel it’s been a profound year. A year of tying up loose ends, completion and with that clarity coming forward.

It’s a useful process - looking back over the year - consolidating lessons learnt and taking the opportunity to celebrate all the wins and steps forward we’ve taken.

During our Following the Flow classes - we’ve met at thresholds through the year to do just this. To look back, acknowledge the present and feel into the right, heart led way forwards.
