Pregnancy Yoga
What’s it all about?
Practicing Yoga whilst pregnant can benefit your body, mind and emotions, as you prepare to make the journey across and into Motherhood.
It is easy to think we are on this journey alone. Only we can feel the emotions rising and falling, the changes happening to our body and all of what comes with this. But we are not alone. Our baby is on this journey with us, we are moving through this transition as a team. Spending time on our Yoga mats helps us to remember this. It gives us the time and space to bond and connect with the precious life growing within us.
During our Pregnancy Yoga practice, we explore asanas (postures) to relieve common pregnancy aliments and help us grow more comfortable into our changing bodies. We gently build strength and resilience and keep the body fluid so it can go with the flow and face whatever may come our way.
I will guide you in pranayama (breathing extension), an invaluable tool during our birthing experience; making sure you feel confident and well prepared to use these powerful, ancient techniques that will help to carry you through your birthing experience and into the arms of your baby.
And of course, we have the nourishing relaxation; helping to relieve stress and promote restful sleep.
Each week our focus shifts. We cover a range of topics from pelvic floor health, optimal foetal positioning, how to use a birth ball and what to expect in Motherhood.
There is time to listen to other Women’s stories and share experiences and insights and gain that ever important support from people who can relate to you at this moment.
You’re welcome to come and join us from 14 weeks right up to birth, providing your Midwife gives consent.
