Newsletter 28th April 2026

What a week it has been. So many Nature sightings, so much time outdoors in this glorious weather! It seems everything is embracing the sun and warmth and is out and about!

We’ve been getting a little more active on our Yoga mats in class with our Beltane inspired practice. We are two weeks deep into this one now and I hope you’re enjoying the flow. We’ve been starting with Nadi Shodana pranayama - a rhythmic flow of controlling the prana through the nostrils in order to bring balance back to our nadis (energy channels). It’s a great one for ensuring we aren’t over passive or active. Gently guiding us back to a place of equilibrium which is where of course we thrive. Nature loves balance and we are Nature!

If you haven’t joined us yet for this practice, come along any week. No need to pre book. Just let me know in advance if you have any health issues that may impact your practice so I can be sure to have alternatives practices ready for you should you need them.

Monday was an emotional day as I attended our beloved Helen’s Celebration of Life. Helen attended a few of our weekend retreats and was a familiar face at our Following the Flow classes. She was part of our Yoga Community group chat so I’m sure many of you have crossed paths with her or know her well. Helen will be greatly missed and leave a void in our community.

Her family did a great job at her Celebration of Life (no doubt under Helen’s guidance) as the church and hall were filled with flowers - she was a great gardener and loved nothing better than being outside in hers. There was bunting, Abba music and a memory book to add to, amongst a myriad of other beautiful framed photos showing the love and passion for life that she had. There was a beautiful photo of Helen wild swimming - one of her other passions in life.

If you knew Helen, I invite you to come along to our Yoga community celebration for her on Friday 8th May at 6.30pm - 7.30pm. We will either be in the woods in Leek (weather dependant and also if the oak tree that has fallen in our Yoga area can be cleared in time!) or at Oakamoor VH, a place where we often held our Following the Flow classes. If you can make it, please let me know so I can keep an eye on numbers as the space in the hall isn’t over big. I can always move us to a different venue if lots want to attend. Bring your happy memories of Helen with you and your Yoga mat!
Please send your love and peace to Helen’s family and friends, especially Jane, Sandra, Lesley and Maria who are all dear friends of Helen.
