How are you all fairing after the past week? Christmas can be a mixed bag of emotions for a lot of us… I hope you’re all finding some joy and peace even if it’s in the smallest ways. 

We are 6 buffets in here in our family, with more to come! I’m sure I’ll definitely need the upcoming gut health session by the end of the holidays!

As part of our Earth School Staffordshire Moorlands initiative, I’ve teamed up with Lily - a local dietitian and Elle -  the chef from ‘Eat Your Heart Out’ to bring us all this hands on workshop that involves learning about gut health and how we can empower ourselves to take care of this ‘brain of the body.’ As with all our Earth School sessions, we love people to go away and put what they have learnt into action, so we have a live cookery demo where everyone will get to create their own tasty, nutritious snack to take home. Well, we have passed the darkest day and I must admit I’ve already noticed a few signs of what is yet to come… snowdrops peaking their little green heads out of the sodden soil, the change in the song of the great tit and blackbirds pairing up. 
As soon as Christmas has passed and New Year’s Day has come, it’s easy to get sucked back into thinking we need to go full pelt back into action. Here’s a friendly reminder that we are still in Winter and still have the call from Nature to rest and dream. We have plenty of time through the rest of Winter to get clear on our way forward and any goals we wish to move towards. 

We will be feeling more into this, in our upcoming weekend retreat in the Derbyshire Dales. We head off on the 16th January for our ‘Finding Your True North’ Yoga retreat. I for one am looking forward to a weekend of Yoga, Nature connection and time to focus on our health and well being! 

We will be stepping back into our weekly classes from Tuesday 6th January. Our first class back being in Ipstones at the new start time of 5.45pm. 
I’ve kept my daily Sun Salutations going through the holidays but nothing else, so it will be good to immerse in an hour long class with you again! I’ll ease us back into our practice gently, so don’t worry if you’ve not managed to do even one asana over Christmas.
