Guerrilla Gratitude Group
Some of you may remember that last September we came together to take part in the Deepak Chopra’s 21 days to abundance. During September we are really supported by Nature to ‘count our blessings’ and plug into abundance and gratitude rather than scarcity and miserly ways. Nature is providing so much nourishment for us at this time of the year - September is harvest season - fruit, berries and nuts are ripe for picking and hopefully the veggie patch has provided a glut of goodness for you to enjoy long into the Autumn. Traditionally this is the time to show our thanks and what better way than to come together as a community and share all the goodness we have in life! And another bonus is that it’s completely free to join!
A friend shared with me this talk by Tara Brach https://www.tarabrach.com/part-1-rewiring-happiness-freedom-2/ which has inspired me to offer this out, so we can up-level and shift towards goodness together.
The details:
For each day in September, we will take part in a gratitude and presence practice via the WhatsApp Gratitude Group chat.
Each night we will share 3 things we feel grateful for that day. No other comments are needed, just the simple statement of ‘I (insert name here) am today grateful for….’
By committing to the group, we hold each other accountable in keeping the practice flowing throughout the month so even if you already have a gratitude practice but maybe it’s something you drop in and out of, this should hopefully support you in making gratitude a constant in your life.
Combined with our gratitude practice is a ‘savour the moment’ practice. For at least 20 seconds (longer if you like!) each day we will let our awareness fully drop into the present moment, soaking in those moments of goodness and beauty before being swept back up in life. For example, instead of gulping down that first hot drink of the day, allow yourself to savour the taste and warmth. Maybe you take a pause as you notice a stream of sunlight casting through the window. Maybe you stop to take in the perfume of the lavender as you walk past. Maybe you let yourself fully melt into a hug from a loved one. The list is endless. Just once a day you are invited to be present and to share this also on the group chat - ‘Today I savoured the moment when….’
By coming together as a community and witnessing each other with compassion and openness, we are uplifting each other and rewiring our mind set as a whole towards presence and connection with Self and Nature. We are choosing to feed the ‘good wolf’.
