Newsletter April 2025
Namaste.
It looks like the Sun is back which is nice after a very rainy week in Italy! A great adventure with lots of family memories made but all mostly in the rain, with the Sun finally appearing on our last day there!
Since returning, I’ve offered a few classes already as we carry on with our evening Yoga theme which is supporting us through the Spring. This one is all about seeking balance as we navigate our way through the vata season -referring to the element of air that can be unsteady, changeable, confusing and fluctuating. In class we’ve been experimenting with alternate nostril breathing which is great for bringing balance back into our system, along with a Yoga flow or two that welcomes back the Sun and brings balance to the left and right side of the body - the solar and lunar sides. I hope you’re enjoying the practice so far. This theme will run until the 5th June so plenty of time to come and give it a go if you’ve not made it to class as yet.
Talking about fluctuations, our evening classes are definitely feeling a little in the air element as more Bank Holidays come our way, my birthday and voting at the hall, all stand in the way of the smooth running of classes. Please do check below for the dates of when classes won’t be running and make a note of them so you’re not left with a wasted journey.
The changeable energy of Spring has also had its way with the start of our daytime class! Due to bookings at Dilhorne Recreation Centre, our class will now start on Thursday 5th June instead of in May. Thank you to everyone who has contacted me via email to say they would be interested in coming along. Now the start date is confirmed, I’ll be able to reply to you!
Alongside our regular Yoga classes, we have a couple of great offerings coming up - Following the Flow - Yoga to connect with the seasons is this Friday and as the weather is looking dry and sunny all week, I thought it would be very apt to take the class outdoors in a private bluebell wood in Leek. If you’d like to join us this Friday evening, please do let me know. The details can be found below.
Our Summer term sessions for Earth School Staffordshire Moorlands have also been released and are now open for booking. We start the term at Tittesworth Reservoir with a Water Process Scientist who is going to help us learn about how we can be a guardian of our waterways and help look after our streams and rivers. So looking forward to this! As a person who loves to learn from other humans rather than a screen or book, these sessions are perfect for me and my boys. If you’d like to come along with your family, give me a shout.
