Newsletter April 2025

I feel like a lot has happened since I last wrote you a letter… things have shifted and changed, completed and ended.

We had our ‘Mothering the Mother’ Yoga retreat a few weeks ago now, and as always it was a very special weekend. It’s difficult to convey to you what happens on retreat. You have to be there to fully ‘get it’. Words and not even photos can explain the energy and moments of magic and connection that occur. Maybe that’s what makes retreats so special. A treasured secret or gift that only those present will experience - something that binds us together as a group for a long time.

We’ve also had our Earth School Staffordshire Moorlands Mindful Stargazing session and wow, just wow! It feels like this session was a long time in the making and if ever there was a story about synchronicity this is it! It was clearly ‘wrote in the stars’ that this session was meant to go ahead. We had clear skies and even an owl (our emblem for Earth School) hooting away in a near by tree.

Today sees our last session for the Spring term and it’s all about becoming more self sufficient and learning to grow your own food. Now if ever there is a skill that our children should have (and us adults come to think of it!) this is it! Cultivating the land and enriching it for wildlife and ourselves. Details of the Summer term sessions will be released soon along with a special Earth Day event!

With endings and completions comes new beginnings… a brand new Yoga class is on the horizon and it’s in a lovely village hall not all that far away.

It will run the same as the evening classes and follow a 6 week ‘theme’. Lots of options will be offered to make it accessible to beginners and the well practiced. The level I set the Yoga to will depend on those who come along, so I’m sure that will reveal itself as regulars form. We are set to start in May! If you’d like to join us please do let me know so I can gauge numbers. The daytime Yoga class will be on Thursdays 11.30am - 12.30pm at Dilhorne Recreation Centre, exchange £7. Exact start date in May will be confirmed with you when you contact me to join.

We have another new beginning coming up and that’s the start of our next 6 week evening Yoga theme. I hope you’ve enjoyed exploring circles and cycles and trying some new forms of balances as we’ve journeyed over and through the Spring Equinox. Our new theme starts this Monday 7th April. It would be lovely to see you at class.

I have a few dates for your diary with holidays and bank holidays on there way….

- There will be no class on Monday 14th April, Tuesday 15th April or Thursday 17th April as I’m off to explore Italy.

- There’s no classes on any of the bank holiday Mondays, the first of these being Monday 21st April.

- Werrington Village Hall is closed to us for voting on Thursday 2nd May so unfortunately no class on this day.

I’ll put reminders on my social media pages closer to each date. If you know someone who comes along to class please can you check with them that they’ve seen these updates. Many thanks for your support.
